Witness appeal –Tooting and Balham Sea Cadets

I represent a client who has instructed me that they were subjected to sexual and emotional abuse by one of the leaders of Tooting and Balham Sea Cadets group in London. The abuse took place between 1971 and 1973.

My client recalls that the leader was known to him as Richard or “Dick”, and he believes that other children were also abused within the same group. According to our client, him and other children were abused during overnight stays at the group’s building and during trips in the UK and abroad.

The abuse has had a profound effect on my client, and they are now seeking justice and closure for their trauma.

I am appealing for witnesses on behalf of my client who may be able to assist with our investigations. It is possible there are more victims who have not yet felt able to come forward to speak about their abuse.
